This was my go-to favorite when I was a kid. I'd always ask my mom to make it for me.

Casserole with Slow Cooker Ground Beef and Doritos — 6 Servings
One pound of ground beef is required.
a single packet of taco spice
1.5 cups of water
One 10-ounce can of green chili-flavored chopped tomatoes
One 10-ounce can of mushroom soup condensed
One container of 10 ounces of condensed chicken soup
1/4 cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
(4) cups of Doritos, crumbled
chopped onion, one small one
1 cup of fresh or frozen corn kernels
1 can (15 ounces) of rinsed and drained black beans
What to do
1. Sauté the ground beef in a pan over medium heat until it's completely done. Get rid of any extra fat.
2. Saute the chopped onion for about three minutes, or until it softens.
3. Simmer for 5 more minutes after adding the taco spice and water.
4. In a big basin, combine the chopped tomatoes with green chilies, corn, black beans, cream of mushroom and chicken soups, corn, and half a cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
5. In the base of the slow cooker, layer 2 cups of crumbled Doritos.
Divide the soup mixture in half and top the Doritos with half of it.
7. Top the soup layer with the ground beef mixture.
8. Layer two cups of crumbled Doritos and the rest of the soup mixture on top.
Add the rest of the shredded cheddar cheese on top. 9.
10. Once the mixture is cooked through and bubbling, cover and simmer on low for four hours.
11. If preferred, serve hot with more Doritos on top for crunch.
Tips and Variations

To make it leaner, you may simply substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef. Sautéed bell peppers are a great way to add color and a delicious bite to any meal. Use spicy Doritos or add a little hot sauce to the soup mixture for a stronger kick. Incorporate some cooked quinoa or brown rice into the ground beef mixture if you're aiming for a somewhat healthier version.
