Instructions

It’s that easy. First, prepare yeast dough for the apple rolls. To do this, take about a teaspoon of sugar and dissolve it in lukewarm milk together with yeast.

Now mix the butter with the sugar and salt, add the egg and stir in the yoghurt.

Now mix the flour with the baking powder and knead in alternately with the yeast and milk.

Knead the dough again with your hands until it is smooth and supple, then cover it and let it rest in a warm place for about 50 minutes.

Now wash the apples, peel them, core them and cut them into small cubes.

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a floured work surface. Preheat the oven to approx. 200 °C/200 °F.

Then melt the butter and spread it over the dough. The remaining butter will be used for decoration later. Then spread the apple cubes over the dough and sprinkle evenly with the vanilla sugar.

Next, roll the dough lengthways and cut it into slices about 3cm thick. They taste simply heavenly!

Finally, place the slices on a baking tray lined with baking paper, leaving some space between them, and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes. The apple rolls should cool completely afterwards.
