  1. Prepare the Flatbread Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and sugar. Make a well in the center and add the olive oil and warm water.
    • Using a wooden spoon or your hands, mix the ingredients together until a rough dough forms.
    • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
    • Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let the dough rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour, allowing it to rise slightly.
  2. Preheat the Oven:
    • While the dough is resting, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a baking sheet or pizza stone in the oven to preheat as well.
  3. Roll Out the Dough:
    • After the dough has rested, divide it into two equal portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each portion of dough into a thin circle or oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Prepare the Garlic Butter Topping:
    • In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, melted butter, chopped fresh parsley, dried oregano, and dried thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix well to combine.
  5. Top the Flatbread:
    • Place the rolled-out dough on a piece of parchment paper or a lightly floured pizza peel.
    • Brush the garlic butter topping evenly over the surface of the dough, making sure to cover it completely.
  6. Bake the Flatbread:
    • Carefully transfer the flatbread (still on the parchment paper or pizza peel) to the preheated baking sheet or pizza stone in the oven.
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the flatbread is golden brown and crispy around the edges.
  7. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Remove the flatbread from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing it into wedges or squares.
    • Serve the Garlic and Butter Flatbread warm, as a standalone snack or alongside your favorite dips, spreads, or soups.
